COVID-19 vaccinations update – 30 April 2021

We are writing to update you on the Government’s COVID-19 vaccine rollout.

We know that it is an uncertain and difficult time for many people and we are here to support you.

People we support and Melba employees who provide direct support are eligible for a free vaccine under Phases 1a and 1b of the rollout.

If you are in this group and have not yet had a vaccine, we encourage you to make a booking.

Vaccines are available through:

  • General Practices

  • Community Health Services

  • Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services

  • High-volume vaccination centres (including in Melbourne, Geelong and Ballarat)

There is more information about booking your vaccine appointment here.

You can use the Health Department’s vaccine eligibility checker to find the clinic, high-volume centre or GP nearest to you.

Information for people living in a disability group home

Under Phase 1a, the Australian Department of Health will visit disability group homes where two or more people live and provide vaccinations to people with a disability and staff. This Phase has been delayed.

Given this delay, we encourage you to make a booking at a clinic, high-volume centre or GP convenient to you.

You can still wait for a COVID-19 vaccine if you live in a group home but we do not yet know when the visits will take place. We will update you as soon as we hear more information.

Regular updates will be posted on our website www.melbasupport.com.au or please call us with any questions on 1300 MYMELBA (1300 696 352).
