The National Disability Insurance Scheme, or the NDIS, is a new way of supporting people with disabilities in Australia. Before the NDIS, organisations received block funding and delivered pre-determined services. Now, people receive their own funding and purchase the supports that they want to receive. Melba is proud to have advocated for the introduction of the NDIS in 2013. We are excited about the opportunities people now have under the scheme.
