Melba’s inclusivity etched in Bronze
August 21, 2025
Melba’s commitment to building a more inclusive and supportive environment for our LGBTQIA+ community has been recognised with a Bronze badge in the annual Pride in Health + Wellbeing Awards.
The Awards, run by ACON, “recognise and celebrate the incredible efforts of organisations and individuals working to make health and human services safer, more inclusive, and affirming for LGBTQ+ communities across Australia”.
Based on results from the Health + Wellbeing Equality Index (HWEI), this annual award highlights leaders in inclusion, innovation, and person-centred care.
Chair of Rainbow Melba Zoi Jahau said the achievement was “more than a badge, it’s recognition of the work we’re doing to make Melba a safer and more inclusive place for our LGBTQIA+ community – both people we support and our employees”.
“As a queer employee at Melba, it gives me great pride to see Melba achieve Bronze status,” she said. “We have laid the foundations in our quest to get Silver or Gold.”
