At Melba, occupational therapy is about supporting people to do the things that matter to them in everyday life. That might mean building skills, finding new ways to take part in daily routines, making changes at home, or using equipment that makes life safer and easier.
Our occupational therapy service is led by Bessie Loo, an experienced Occupational Therapist who joined Melba in 2025. Bessie has worked across hospitals, community settings, private practice and not for profit organisations, supporting people of different ages and with different needs.
Bessie brings a strong clinical background and a warm, practical approach to her work. She focuses on creative and meaningful ways to support people to do what they want and need to do, in ways that fit their lives.
For Bessie, good occupational therapy starts with listening. It means understanding what is important to each person, what is getting in the way, and what support could make a real difference.
Melba’s occupational therapy team can support people with daily living skills, routines, equipment, home and living changes, safety, independence and participation at home and in the community.
Because Melba already works closely with many people with disability, families and support teams, our occupational therapy service is grounded in real life. We look at the whole person, not just a task or a diagnosis.
If you or someone you support could benefit from occupational therapy, talk to Melba about what support might be useful and how to get started.
