ARROW targets accessibility app
October 23, 2025
Accessibility remains a daily issue for people with disability, which is why the Melba community is always looking for ways to address and remove obstacles – particularly those that are a common barrier.
At a recent ARROW East group meeting, the crew highlighted a handy app for sharing concerns about your local environment and taking positive action.
The app is called Snap Send Solve and it gives you direct access to your local council if you see something that needs to be addressed, including if it isn’t accessible. You simply take a photo, upload it to the app and it instantly notifies the relevant council or organisation.
Accessibility issues raised during the ARROW meetings included:
- pedestrian lights that don’t allow enough time for wheelchair users to cross
- steep walking tracks around local lakes and parks
- gravel areas near coffee vans that are hard to walk on
- poor design of shopping centre car parks.
ARROW (Advocacy, Rights, Representation, Outcomes, Worth) members gather each month across Victoria to discuss issues of accessibility and advocacy and provide feedback to Melba’s Board on how our services are being delivered.
