Welcome back to Melba Community News
Hello everyone,
It’s been a busy time for the disability community, with plenty of big conversations in the media about the NDIS and what needs to change. In moments like these, it matters that we stay connected – sharing clear information, celebrating what’s working, and keeping people at the heart of every decision.
I was fortunate to be at the National Press Club for Minister Butler’s address last month. This was a significant moment for quality providers. With major reform already underway, the address helped clarify priorities, signal what may come next, and shape the direction for decisions leading into next weeks Federal Budget and beyond.
I hosted an online Q & A for the Melba Community last Thursday evening and it was great to be able to understand what people were wanting to know. We will be keeping you informed as the details emerge about these reforms, and I encourage you to attend a session or send us your questions. If you’re thinking about it, others probably are too!
You can read the summary of what we talked about here.
We’ve created an NDIS reforms page on our website where we have shared all the questions and their answers. We will continue adding to this with any questions that we receive and will provide regular updates on what we know about the NDIS reforms.
Also, in this edition you can read more about our long-standing approach to complex support needs and respite in Gippsland.
Enjoy the read
