Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA)

At Melba, we are on a mission to advocate for more accessible homes in the areas we deliver services. Because we believe everybody should have the opportunity to experience living in their own place.

To achieve this, we partner with some highly skilled and experienced developers and Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) providers, who are committed to improving the lives of people with disability.

What is SDA?

SDA (Specialist Disability Accommodation) funding is a type of funding offered through the NDIS for housing. SDA housing features accessible designs, supportive technologies and safety measures to enhance independent living. SDA comes in various forms, from group houses to individual apartments, tailored to meet specific needs. SDA eligibility is determined by an assessment of the person’s disability-related housing requirements.

Funding for SDA

You may be able to access funding for SDA through avenues such as the NDIS and TAC.
