Melba Support Services is saddened by the sudden closure of Daily Living Disability Services in Traralgon and the impact this has had on people with disability, their families and support workers across the Latrobe Valley.
We know how upsetting and unsettling it can be when support services end without warning. For many people supports are part of everyday life and sudden changes create stress, worry and uncertainty.
Melba has been supporting people in Gippsland and other regional areas of Victoria for many years.
We understand how important it is to be able to talk to someone who understands the local area and for people to feel listened to, respected and supported during times of change.
Melba’s weekend respite provides short term support over a weekend. Whether you’re looking for a quiet weekend in or days full of activities, your Melba respite stays are tailored just for you, while offering peace of mind to your support network.
If you, or someone you know, has been affected by this closure, Melba is available to provide support in whatever way is helpful – whether you need immediate, direct assistance, information about options, or simply a conversation to talk things through. We have a local team on hand who can take phone calls, listen and provide information about what support may be available.
Our focus is on people’s wellbeing and ensuring support continues in a way that feels safe, respectful and right for each person.
You’re not alone, support is available
