What are Individualised Support Arrangements (ISA)?
Some people call this one to one support, at Melba we say Individualised Support Arrangements (ISA) because that’s exactly what it is: individualised support tailored to your needs and preferences.
ISA are flexible, one to one supports that put you in control of your daily life. You decide what your support looks like, when it happens, and which providers you use. Whether that’s a few hours a week or on a more regular basis, everything is shaped around what’s important to you.
At Melba, our Individualised Support Arrangements are about opening up possibilities. Every day should be a chance to learn, grow and be part of your community, with the right support alongside you.
Who are Individualised Support Arrangements suited to?
ISA can be a great option if you’re looking for less structured supports, and may be a good fit if you:
- want more flexibility with your supports
- prefer one to one support rather than group settings
- have specific things you’d like to work towards · need flexibility around when and how your supports are delivered
- want to build confidence, independence, or new interests
Melba’s Individualised Support Arrangements work for people at many different stages, whether you’re just starting out with the NDIS, or you’re wanting to take more ownership of how your supports are delivered.
What do Individualised Support Arrangements look like in real life?
Because ISA is so flexible, it can look very different from person to person. Here are a few everyday examples to bring it to life.
ISA example
If hydrotherapy is part of your NDIS plan, ISA can support you every step from getting to your session in the pool to helping you build confidence in the water.
It’s not just about attending the session, it’s about making the whole experience feel relaxed and enjoyable.
How to choose the right type of respite
Choosing the right respite depends on your individual needs, interests and what’s included in your NDIS plan. Consider the type of support you need, how long you’d like to stay, and whether you’d feel most comfortable at home or in a respite house.
Talk with a trusted respite provider like Melba Support Services to explore your options and find the best fit for you.
