Every day brings new opportunities to learn, grow and participate fully in community life, supported by people who truly understand and celebrate your individual journey.

Maybe it’s support at home for daily living activities such as personal care or getting the shopping done. Maybe you want support attending events like concerts and markets or joining a local community group? Or maybe you want a bit of everything?

Frequently asked questions about ISA

Individualised Support Arrangements is one to one disability support that puts choice and control firmly in your hands. Unlike some service models, ISA allows you to manage your own support, creating a truly personalised experience that aligns with your lifestyle.

At Melba, we understand every person’s journey is different – that’s why our ISA is designed to be as unique as you are, whether you’re pursuing new skills, maintaining independence at home, or exploring community opportunities that matter most to you.

Our ISA operates on a simple yet powerful principle: you’re in the driver’s seat.

Here’s how we make it happen:
  • Initial consultation and planning: We begin by spending quality time with you and your family, understanding your goals, routines, and the support that would most benefit you. This isn’t a one size fits all conversation – it’s about finding out what independence means to you personally.
  • Worker selection and matching: We take the time to find support workers who not only have the right skills, but also share your interests and get along well with you. Whether you’re looking for someone full of energy for outings or someone patient for learning new skills, we’ll find the right person for you.
  • Flexible service delivery: Your ISA could mean one support worker for a few hours each week or a whole team providing 24/7 support. We shape the support around your needs – not the other way around.
  • Ongoing support and management: We take care of the tricky stuff – like payroll, compliance, and training – so you can focus on living your life your way.

Understanding your NDIS funding for ISA is key to getting the most out of your plan.

What’s included:
  • Wages and costs for your support workers.
  • Admin fees for managing your plan.
  • Training and development for your chosen workers.
  • Coordination and supervision services.
  • Equipment and resources needed to deliver your support.
What’s not included:
  • Personal expenses not related to disability support.
  • Costs covered by other government systems (like healthcare or education).
  • Everyday living costs like rent, food, or entertainment.
  • Support that family members would normally provide.

Your NDIS budget sets the scope for your ISA, but we work closely with you to make every dollar count through smart planning and coordination.

One to one disability support gives you more flexibility, with support tailored to your life. Instead of fitting into a set schedule or group environment, support is built around your lifestyle, routine, interests, and the way you like to do things.

The best way to get started with Melba’s ISA one to one support is by contacting our team directly. This gives us the opportunity to get to know you, understand what you’re looking for, and ensure support is tailored properly to you.

The cost of one to one disability support can vary depending on the type of support you need, when and where support is delivered, and how often you receive it.

For NDIS participants, many one to one supports are funded through your NDIS plan, usually under Core and/or Capacity Building Supports.

At Melba, we follow current NDIS pricing arrangements and can support you to understand how your funding may be used for our Individualised Support Arrangements (ISA).

When looking for a one to one disability support provider, it’s important to find an organisation that takes the time to understand you as a person, not just your support needs.

At Melba, we focus on building genuine relationships, carefully matching support workers, and tailoring support around your preferences, interests, and lifestyle. Reach out for a conversation, and we’ll support you to understand whether a provider feels like the right fit for you.

In Australia, one to one disability support is commonly funded through the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) for eligible participants. Funding may cover supports that help with daily living, community participation, skill building, independence, and achieving personal goals.

Depending on your situation, support may also be privately funded or supported through other community or government programs.

Melba can support you to better understand what funding options may apply to your personal circumstances.
