Melba Support Services Welcomes New Chair/President

On Tuesday 5 December, Melba Support Services (Melba) welcomed Andrew Cairns as our new Chair/President. Andrew has a broad range of executive and directorial experience across multiple industries. Andrew is currently the Group Chief Executive Officer of Haven Home Safe, where he works collaboratively with government, public and private partners to keep Victorians in safe, secure and affordable homes.
Melba Takes Home the 2023 Excellence in Service Quality Award

Melba Support Services (Melba) has won the 2023 Excellence in Service Quality award at the annual National Disability Awards. The awards celebrate those working to create an inclusive Australia where people with disability are valued, respected and contribute to the community.

Talking with your loved ones about friendships, relationships and intimacy can be tricky. As parents, family and friends, we often worry that talking about it can be risky.
This workshop will help you feel more confident to have these conversations. It will give you ideas about the best topics to cover, tips for talking and opportunities to practice so you can support your loved one to develop knowledge and skills that give them power and control to keep themselves safe, while also having a fulfilling life. The four modules we’ll cover are:- Introduction and Setting The Stage
- Human Sexual Development
- Tips For Talking and Teachable Moments
- Responding to Behaviours
