As the Minister said: \u201cyou need more ID to get into a licensed club than to be an NDIS provider and that will change.\u201d<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-6026c9cc link elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"6026c9cc\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>That acknowledgement matters. It signals that Government recognises the need for stronger, proportionate safeguards where high\u2011risk, personal supports are delivered, while keeping the NDIS sustainable and trusted. Getting this right isn\u2019t about cracking down on the sector, nor about compliance for its own sake.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-58f1eac7 link elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"58f1eac7\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>It\u2019s about restoring confidence in the scheme, in providers, and most importantly, in the safety and dignity of people who rely on supports every day. At the same time, reform must protect what sits at the heart of the NDIS: choice and control. People must always have agency over who comes into their home, who supports them, and how that support is delivered.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-253d3d23 e-con-full e-flex e-con e-child\" data-id=\"253d3d23\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-5bbea0ce link elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"5bbea0ce\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The direction outlined this week suggests we are moving toward clearer, fairer settings:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>that high\u2011risk, personal supports particularly for people with complex needs require appropriate oversight<\/li>\n<li>that quality should never be a competitive disadvantage<\/li>\n<li>and that human rights, choice and safety must never be compromised<\/li>\n<\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-62e8a373 link elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"62e8a373\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Registration that is done well (risk\u2011based, proportionate and co\u2011designed) can be a safeguard, not a barrier. One that protects people, lifts quality, and helps rebuild the NDIS\u2019s social licence.<\/p>\n<p>There is still work to do. Reform must strengthen quality, safety and rights not just deliver budget discipline. And it must be shaped with people with disability, families, providers, and governments working together.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-68ebba8 link elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"68ebba8\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>I am optimistic that we are on the right track.
