As the only Australian conference run by people with intellectual disability\u00a0for people with intellectual disability, it is always full of great, targeted ideas\u00a0and presentations\u00a0that resonate with so many people.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">We presented two sessions related to our intimacy\u00a0program\u00a0and we are truly\u00a0energised\u00a0for the year ahead.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">For too\u00a0long,\u00a0people with\u00a0disability\u00a0have been left out of conversations about intimacy,\u00a0have had decisions made for them based off outdated assumptions. Nobody has asked\u00a0what intimacy might look like for\u00a0them or\u00a0what they want. We are on a mission to remove any stigma around intimacy\u00a0and get people talking.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">The key focus of our\u00a0Having a Say\u00a0presentations\u00a0was\u00a0showcasing\u00a0the great workshops we now offer for parents,\u00a0carers\u00a0and other support networks\u00a0to offer practical tips\u00a0for talking\u00a0about intimacy.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Meaningful connections are an important part of\u00a0life,\u00a0they can make you feel valued,\u00a0safe\u00a0and understood. We can\u00a0provide helpful hints on how to make\u00a0what might be an\u00a0awkward conversation\u2026well\u2026slightly less awkward.\u00a0\u00a0Our workshops cover things like how to\u00a0start\u00a0conversations\u00a0about\u00a0intimacy,\u00a0the\u00a0different types\u00a0of\u00a0intimacy\u00a0and\u00a0how they can support you to access intimacy in a way\u00a0that\u2019s\u00a0meaningful for you.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">A very popular\u00a0topic at Having\u00a0a Say\u00a0was\u00a0consent,\u00a0and we have lots of information on this vital topic to ensure everyone\u00a0knows what\u00a0consent\u00a0is and importantly what it\u00a0isn\u2019t.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">We run workshops all year round in various locations and can work with you to\u00a0and your network to make sure the content is right for you.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Remember, access to intimacy is a human right, and everybody experiences intimacy
