Melba is thrilled to be providing 24-hour support to individuals who have recently moved into Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) apartment-style homes in Cheltenham designed by Guardian Living.
Since July, Melba has been providing independent living supports to four individuals who have moved in and now call their Guardian Living Cheltenham apartment their ‘new home’. Two more people will move in over the next few weeks and will also be supported by Melba staff on site, in a shared model of supports where participants share the staff and access supports when they need them.
What’s unique about these apartment-style homes is that they use the latest technology to live independently. This includes automated doors, windows and blinds, overhead hoists, purpose-built apartment design that considers the unique needs of the person with a disability, as well as state-of-the-art technology to call for support at any time of the day or night.
