Lockdown Update – Thursday 16th September

Ballarat has gone into lockdown from 11:59pm, Wednesday 15th September for seven days. People in Ballarat will follow the same rules as Melbourne — except there will be no curfew.

For Regional Victoria some restrictions eased from 11.59pm Thursday 9th September as outbreaks come under control.

Now that Victoria will hit their 70 per cent first dose target today, Thursday 16th September, this means some limited freedoms will occur. However, please note curfews remain in metropolitan Melbourne.

Please remember, restrictions remain different between Metropolitan Melbourne and Regional Victoria.

For Regional Victoria:

  • From 11:59pm Thursday 9th September, the five reasons to leave your home no longer applied.

  • Businesses have reopened, but with limits.

  • There has been a significant boost to enforcement in the region-metropolitan border. Expect to be pulled over if you travel.
